I have a Samsung SIR-S4040R, the original hard drive died and I bought a Maxtor 200GB to replace it along with PTVNet and Instantcake software. When running the insatntcake softwate it gets to 1410 of 1453 while uncompressing and then the compression rations goes crazy and it starts dispaying very large number very fast. I saw in the forums that someone had a bad CD burn that caused this so I am going to burn the image and try again. I put the drive in my tivo and things seem to work but the recording time shows 35hrs still.

So my problems are:
1.) hanging on uncompress
2.) shows 35hrs still (I realize this is probably related to not finishing the process)

My final question is how to I start over to try the CD again? Low Level Format?

Thanks in advance!

Charles

Please see any or all of the following threads where folks who have had decompression errors have discussed the issue.

You do not need to low-level format the drive to begin the process again.
