      I created the iso disc for instant cake for a Series 2 DirecTV Philips DSR704. I purchased a Maxtor 120GB hard drive. I have Windows XP. I disconnected both of my internal drives and placed my new Maxtor on the Master. The iso disc installed into the cd-rom drive. Computer started and booted from cd. The Instant Cake began the linux stuff and then I selected the # 1 for a single drive setup, then clicked yes after verifying the iso was for my particular DVR. Baking my cake stalls instantly with the following error:
/dev/hdc: Read only file system
Restore failed: Unable to open destination device for writing
This sounds like it may be a simple fix. I encountered this when I attempted to hook up the Maxtor fresh out of the box. Then I decided to format the drive for use with the accompanying cd-rom (Maxtor). I thought that was why the error included the Read only file system message. It didn't work the second time as well...received the very same error.
I am not as much of an expert at computers as it seems the majority of folks in this forum are. However, I paid my $19.99 for the iso image to burn to disc and I need help to get my moneys worth.
Thanks. James
