I am able to connect to my HDVR2 via a wired Linksys USB adapter (USB200M).
I changed the /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit.author file to match my router settings and I set the HDVR2's ip. My settings must work since I can connect wired...

Why can't I connect then when I unplug the Wired USB adapter and (restart) then plug in the wireless usb adapter?

I've scoured the forum and tried a few things that I thought might make a difference but it won't. I just tried again and can connect wired, not wireless.

Is it likely that the wireless USB I have purchased (USB 2) just won't work with this setup?

It would be very very difficult to wire this unit in regard to the location of the HDVR2 and where my router is. I need a wireless solution.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Question just occurred to me... for wireless what do I need to set my ssid to?

thanks

There are no wireless drivers. That is why I've been quite explicit and have said this many many many times here on the forum, as well as in the product descriptions:

If you want wireless, you need to connect your USB 2.0 ethernet adapter to a bridge or gaming adapter...

ahhh. understand now.

I'm understanding now. In my mind I was equating a wireless network adapter to a bridge/gaming adapter but they are apparantly different.

Now, off to find one of those!

Thanks!
