Clearly, that is not normal.

Might want to run the full manufacturer's diagnostics on your hard drive to rule that out. Also check connections, and also verify that you are using compatible USB adapter and that all jumpers and cables are set properly before and after you reinstall the drive into the TiVo. Obviously, something isn't right, but its probably something simple.

Do ensure you are not receiving any errors or warnings; assumping you are booting with the PTVnet CD and using it in conjunction with InstantCake, as directed, yes?

I get the same results if I just use InstantCake and don't put the PTVnet on. I've tried doing it both ways, booting with the PTVnet cd and the InstantCake cd. I havn't even tried to plug in a network adapter yet. I get the same results both ways. It seems like my reciver just doesn't like any of the software. Please help.

Might try reburning the CD or trying a different media type, perhaps the software is corrupt...
