Same Problem here

I am having the same problem with S2SA-MODEL: TCD240080 InstantCake software.
It says it supports 40 hour or 80 hour hard drives, but I get a error message " Backup Target not large enough for entire backup itself" I am using a WD 80 gig so it should work right?

I am going to order a bigger hard drive, but I am using this one to play with + I don't think it is a problem with the hard drive.

I was however able to load and run S2DT-MODEL: SAM-SIR-4040R InstantCake software with no problems in my tivo on this same hard drive.

BTW I did a search for this problem on the forum and this is the only thread it came up with.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

I found the answer

I got it to work after reading this thread---> http://www.dvrplayground.com/forum/thread/11010/&highlight=mfsrestore

It says it is for Series1 InstantCake, stuck at "Welcome. Powering up..." but it worked for my problem.

after I d/l PTVlba48 and did the PTVbake-special as instructed I then selected no when it ask me about large swap file (127MB I think) and bingo, inserted my InstantCake cd and all worked fine.

I still am a little confused as to why I needed to disable the large swap file if it said it would work for 40 hour or 80 hour units? I am using a 80 gig hard drive.
But I am happy with the results.
