my HR10-250 PTVNet upgraded TiVo has lost all it's guide data except for this hour --- most everything else is "To be announced" ..

Is this because of the lack of upgrade to the last push from DTV? or something else?

I have 4 other TiVo (SD DVR40s) and they are all fine. something is amiss.

How long ago did you complete the upgrade (recently?)

If the upgrade has been installed for awhile, and the guide data was updated (until recently) its probably due to the satellite guide data transmission (or perhaps satellite reception in your area). I have seen in "holes" in the satellite guide before (even on UNUPGRADED units). Keep an eye on it, pehaps call DirecTV if you are really nervous and ask them if this is a known problem.

Chances are that it will go away on its own.

Nervous no... wondering why it would only affect 1 of 5 DTIVOs ? the only HDTIVO.

I will keep an eye open.

Don't get me wrong; it doesn't sounds like it *should* be happening at all. But remember, your HR10-250 is different hardware, its running different software, and there are different satellites involved. Without knowing the inner workings of DirecTV's infrastructure, I can't really guess what the problem is, but there are probably any number of reasons why it could be affecting your HD unit and not the others.

understood.

I rebooted shortly after my first post... and was happy to see within a few hours, things started to re-populate.

It is still abit strange that it only affected the HD unit - as they all use the same dish. It was not just the HD content channels it was all 3 SAT LNBs - channels. But as you say it could be they way the channel guide is refreshed - perhaps during an update something when south, and lost everything it was suppose to replace or update and never corrected for the hic-up. Anyway all is well.

Thanks for the VERY fast attention.

Glad all is well.

I'm at a loss for a logical explanation, myself. I will keep an eye on some of the other bulletin boards and if I see anything that looks appropriate, will mention it here.

FWIW, I looked through the guide on my own HR10-250 and nothing appeared strange. I did have a problem a few weeks ago where some things were missing (everything still recorded though) and it just seems to have cleared itself up...

Cheers,
Lou
