I am out of ideas.

I have 2 WD 80GB drives with jumper setings at Master/Slave and Slave.
I tried IC on two different PC (win98 and XP) machines ,checked cable connections.... Burned cd at 8x with DR cd xp

I ran IC on XP machine and everything seamed ok. "didn't work when installed"
Downloaded "LBA48"
Ran LBA48, PVTbake-special (Enhanced 2 drives) ran it and then IC, seamed ok. "didn't work when installed" 174minutes
Re installed original drive to make sure system ok. "got past powering up"
Reburned IC cd at 2x
Ran "LBA48" PVTbake-special (Enhanced 2 drives) ran it and then IC, the restore failed at 94% twice

I switched to Win98 machine. and used 1st IC CD
I ran LBA48 PVTbake-special (Enhanced) then IC "CD didn't mount"
I ran LBA48 ,Mountcd ,PVTbake-special (Enhanced) then IC all went fine. "Didn't work when installed"

I am going to download the ISO file again in case it was a bad download but I didn't get any errors??????????????????????????????

Cudafish: I caked 3 different drives and tried every conceivable jumper setting before I finally put my original dual drive setup back. When I did it stuck at the PowerUp screen. Being the master of the obvious that I am I knew something was up. The IDE cable was one I got from cough, cough, weaknees when I originally upgrated to the dual drive layout. Looks like it went bad. (yes I was gentle with it ;) I tried the original TiVO single IDE with my new InstantCake drive and it worked like a champ.

PS tivoupgrade I take back all those mean things I said under my breath....;)

Glad you got it working. Weaknees still doesn't know why IDE cables need to be supplied with upgrade kits, they just do it because we always have. They missed the fact that it has to be higher quality than the original ones, not lower... ;-)
