Hello all,

I am new to the group and I am here because I am upgrading from my SAT - T60 Tivo to a new Hughes HR10-250 High Def receiver.

My question is "With my Sony sat t60 i used linex to add a bunch of really cool extras such as caller ID that would put the phone number on the TV screen"

I am going to miss this feature especially and i simply wondered if anyone knows of anyway to upgrade my new unit to do this?

Happy Holidays,
Doug.

It can be done, but its non-trivial. Definitely not within the scope of what we discuss in great detail on our forums here, as we have no products which address this.

Best bet is to start here read, and follow the links.

Hello again,

Firstly I thnk you for replying even if it was in a condescending manner and I would ask you to remember that we all have to start somewhere and helping others is the goal of forums like these.

Secondly I liked the link that you gave me and I appreciate it greatly.

Happy Holidays,
Doug. :D

It was not intended to be condescending. Not sure why you got that impression, as I've reread my resonse to your initial inquiry. All the points were covered:

1. Its non trivial
2. You won't find a lot of info on it here because we have no products which do this
3. Here's a link to get you started

What is condescending about that?

"Non Trivial"... Dear God, well at least this is what I first thought and then I looked at your location. Illinois...

That is called "biting the hand that feeds you."

Non-Trivial == not a quick and easy solution.

Get over it.

Folks,

This user has been banned for three days for being insulting. I do not make that decision lightly. This forum is provided as a convenience. My responses are intended to be helpful. We do not profit from them. In this case, the user appears to be a bit sensitive, as the tone of my response, although brief, was not what he inferred.

If this comes across as condescending, I apologize; however I don't appreciate the resources we provide being taken for granted. We are not obligated to provide this resource, and we are certainly not obligated to respond to any or as many of the posts as we do.
