I have not gotten a clear answer on the question of whether InstantCake will allow you to use the full size of the HD if it is beyond 137GB. I had just purchased the InstantCake and want to get two 250GB drives, but I was not assured that I could get the full 250GB from each drive using InstantCake to upgrade my original Philips HDR 30 hr machine. "InstantCake was tested on drives as large as 250GB" - does that mean that it will format these drives, but is still under the 137GB limitation? If that is the case, I would be wasting my money on those drives. Does InstantCake make the modifications required (like the 640hr upgrade kit) to access the full capacity beyond the 137GB limit? If anyone knows the answer to this, please post as I need to make a decision on which size HD's to get. Thanks in anticipation.

InstantCake was tested on drives as large as 250GB - it uses ALL the space on them.

So I should get the 640hr (basic quality) with two 250GB drives using InstantCake to format, I take it??? I hope so, since the reply above gave me the go-ahead to order the 250GB drives instead of the 160GB. (The info however is in contradiction to a previous thread asking about the 137GB and the response was that it will only give you 137GB worth of the 160GB drive). Now I am totally confused.

No contradictions; Series1 InstantCake has lba48 support (large drives); Series2 does not (except for HR10-250). Keep doing your reading as this is mentioned in several other threads on this forum.
