Hey folks,

I'm very new to this, but I've searched around the forum, and haven't been able to locate an answer. Any help will be appreciated.

I can see my Tivo and read the list of files that are on it, but when I try to "get" one, I get an error that says "Could not open an output file!"

I have plenty of disk space. Is there some issue where TyTool needs to be given permission to write a file (I'm running XP Pro)? Or are there extra hoops to jump through in setting up DVRchive? Or do I have to "start" some process on the Tivo?

The help in TyTool talked about loading files onto the Tivo's hard disk, but since the ptvupgrade folks prepared the disk I'm believe all the necessary files are there.

Any help will be hugely appreciated!

Thanks!

- Charlie

The fact that you can connect to the TiVo and list your files using the TyTool means the TiVo is correctly configured and communicating with the DVRchive client.

The error you are receiving is an indication that you may be trying to save a file to a directory on your PC which does not exists -- try changing the location to c:\ as a test or ensure the directory is created and named properly within TyTool...
