I just want to add a second disk - I bought instant cake - I thought that was what I would need - but my original plan was to add a second disk to the original - do I run Instant cake on the second disk or is there some other prep that must be done to the second disk before I add it.

InstantCake is for creating replacement disk sets. BlessTiVo does exist on the CD, as well. You can boot the InstantCake CD, break into the script by using "ctrl-C" and then use BlessTiVo.

Check out tivocommunity.com for more info on how to use BlessTiVo to add a drive to your unit.

Just purchased InstantCake to add a second drive to my TCD649 DT 80 hr tivo.  After blessing drive and installing into tivo, my tivo is in an endless loop.  Tivo cycles between "Welcome, Powering up" screen and " just a few more moments".  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Make sure you've changed your original drive's jumper to master and the new drive as slave (typically no jumper at all) also ensure you haven't damaged or dislodged any cables in the unit.
