Evidenly the station logos aren't included with the CAKE image (not even sure if they come with a "new" TiVo out of the box - I am pretty sure they get downloaded). I did have most all the logos before my crash and figured they would get downloaded again after reimaging. Guess not. Not a great big deal but they did help on occassion.

The ease of install of "CAKE" makes it worth the loss of logos, but I was hoping there was some way to get them back.

Now, with 2 days of programs recorded I've noticed my HBO icon is an ugly (not well drawn) solid blue. In this time, I've done 6+ automatic or forced calls into Tivo.

Everything else is working fine.

I am not familiar enough with the hacks that have been applied, but I was unaware of anything that InstantCake might do to affect logos.

It's been MONTHS and I have zero logos. What kind of TiVo do you have? I have an older DSR6000 DirecTiVo. That might make a difference, although I also have a standalone TiVo with a PTVupgrade replacement drive and that also has no logos (both are series 1).

Geez guy ..... lighten up a bit. You take things MUCH too personally. You ignore all the good things and pick on the little things ...... I said from the gitgo it wasn't important and therefore if you chose to not get involved it would be no problem. You products are great but you really need to lighten up a bit when your customers ask a question which you think is just too simple. Remove all the taunts and gripes you like ..... and you're very welcome for all the GOOD things said about you both here on on TC. Sheesh.

And, .... thank you VERY MUCH for the files and info. That will put the "icing" on my "cake."

For some reason, some units are able re-establish their logo information, and others are not. The backup used for some of the DirecTV units doesn't contain the logo slice information; you can thank DirecTV for that, as channel logos have never been available on all units - only some of them.

As for not being interested, seems some folks are willing to seek out more information and others are unwilling to do so and want to be spoon fed. Please keep your griping off these forums; we provide them for free, and I will remove taunts and gripes at my own discretion.

With that said; a quick search on google reveals the information required to upload and reload your channel logo slice information. You do need to have a networked TiVo to do this.

Download the attachment (logos.zip) and save locally. Open an FTP session to your TiVo and transfer the file to /var/tmp as a binary file. Then TELNET to your TiVo and type:

unzip logos.zip

chmod u+x dbload30.tcl

./dbload30.tcl

and the logo information slice will be loaded into your TiVo database. Now just type:

sync

reboot

and your logos should start to appear over the next several hours.
