I must have left the cake out in the rain ... or maybe it took to long to bake it? Oh no no no! :p

I did a Series 1 DSR6000 "Instant Cake" install on a replacement drive and my station logos never came back. It's been a couple months now. Been forcing calls, reboots .... but no logos. The I.C. worked great. No problems .... just no logos.

Anyone know where my station logos went? I miss them dearly.

Hmmmm, it's been months and I have none. Maybe Mr. Cake himself can explain what's up. Seems he's not interested though.

For some reason, some units are able re-establish their logo information, and others are not. The backup used for some of the DirecTV units doesn't contain the logo slice information; you can thank DirecTV for that, as channel logos have never been available on all units - only some of them.

As for not being interested, seems some folks are willing to seek out more information and others are unwilling to do so and want to be spoon fed. Please keep your griping off these forums; we provide them for free, and I will remove taunts and gripes at my own discretion.

With that said; a quick search on google reveals the information required to upload and reload your channel logo slice information. You do need to have a networked TiVo to do this.

Download the attachment (logos.zip) and save locally. Open an FTP session to your TiVo and transfer the file to /var/tmp as a binary file. Then TELNET to your TiVo and type:

unzip logos.zip

chmod u+x dbload30.tcl

./dbload30.tcl

and the logo information slice will be loaded into your TiVo database. Now just type:

sync

reboot

and your logos should start to appear over the next several hours.

Geez guy ..... lighten up a bit. You take things MUCH too personally. You ignore all the good things and pick on the little things ...... I said from the gitgo it wasn't important and therefore if you chose to not get involved it would be no problem. You products are great but you really need to lighten up a bit when your customers ask a question which you think is just too simple. Remove all the taunts and gripes you like ..... and you're very welcome for all the GOOD things said about you both here on on TC. Sheesh.

And, .... thank you VERY MUCH for the files and info. That will put the "icing" on my "cake."

No problems at all with the questions. I do take the critical cynicism personally; its my company and I take it very seriously. To suggest we don't care is way off-base.

As for my initial response, if you can't take it, please don't dish it.

You are welcome for the additional information and the good words, of course.

Restore Logos Help

I, too, recently upgraded & lost all of my channel logos when I did a "Clear & Delete Everything". I found this post an followed the instructions, but get an error when executing "./dbload30.tcl" - "/bin/bash: ./dbload30.tcl: No such file or directory". Am I missing something?

My Setup:
Philips DSR7000/17
PTVUpgrade hdd kit (105 hrs)
TiVo software version: 3.1.1e
TivoWebPlus & HackMan 1.0

Please keep in mind that I am VERY new to Linux and am not as familiar as most. I am a technical person though an am willing to try most anything (technical, of course). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark (the noob)

I too lost my logo's on my HDVR2. Is there a list of machines that will eventually get them? or is it better to re-bake using an older software version and then allowing the Tivo to update to 6.2 naturally?

I have a directv tivo HDVR2 and had all logos
I lost the hard drive and put a new one in using instant cake. Every thing went good. but lost logos.
I do not have networking is there any chance of getting my logos?
Can I put the drive back into my computer and add them?

Where can I download logos.zip? The file doesn't seem to be attached to the June 21 2004 post by Lou Jacob.
