A friend's TiVo hard drive died recently so I got to wondering.
I have an upgraded DTiVo from PTVUpgrade, it has a 160 GB drive in there.

TivoWeb tells me that the drive supports S.M.A.R.T. but it's disabled.
Supposedly S.M.A.R.T. can be used to monitor a hard drive's health and give you a heads up if anything starts to look fishy. TiVoWeb also says "Use option -e to enable"

Is this a "smart" thing to do, and if so, how do I enable it?
(ie: where to I use option -e)
