Well, I have actually thought of that a few time. In fact,originally, I saw TivoApp as just a step along the process to having a plugin to WMP to control and watch shows from the Tivo. I just have not spent any time really trying to pursue that.

It is a cool idea, unfortunally it seems like this would be really cpu intensive, seeing how it needs to convert any video stream, resize if needed, convert audio etc then send it to the tivo via net adtapter and then have an app on the tivo that displays this video on the tv..

do we have control over the GUI of the tivo yet? can we add in menus our self?

There are potentially tons of things that could be done, the linux library of apps is huge, im assuimg alot of it would have to be compiled for the PPC cpu and some modifications, but things like mp3 player would rock etc.
