If you have a linux server:
Check the logs for the DHCP request to get the mac address. Then setup a fixed address in /etc/dhcpd.conf
So, I've spent MONTHS getting my Tivo setup just the way I like, and it all just went away last night. However, I know I didn't exactly approach setting up my Tivo "correctly", and I had crap scattered all over the place that probably shouldn't have been there. My question is, what are the LATEST things that I should be installing? I setup the broadband download [,#401] backdoor, and I've downloaded TivoWeb 1.9.4, but what about telnetd, ftpd, and all the other bits? Has anyone had any luck recovering files from the previous system partition? My goal is to be able to get back up and extracting video again. My Tivo will be bursting at the seams soon if I don't! :)
Goals:
1) Static IP, not DHCP
2) Install the latest set of standard unix binaries
3) Get The Big Three servers (telnet, ftp and TivoWeb) running again.
4) Get ExtractStream running again.
Any help with any of these goals is greatly appreciated!
