Well I have figured out some things however I still cant get it perfect since the audio track from Extractstream has hickups :(
anyhow I normally extract the audio video files to my pc. then use TMPGEnc to mux them together. Under File/mpegtools u will see mux.. just load in your video/audio file and select an output then hit run.. Wait a while for this to finish. (you wont see any visual clues that its working)
now you should have a one file that has both audio and video together. Now try paying it and see what it looks/sounds like.. If you are in sync just use that file to convert to svcd, vcd etc..
my problem is the actual audio stream coming from the tivo hic-up's every so often.. anyone dealt with this?

Since everyone except myself seems to have this one sorted:
Can someone post a step-by-step guide of how to get rid of the sync problem?
I've tried several approaches (constant offset, converting the video stream into CBR before muxing, extracting raw and converting later,...) but I just can't get the sync issue to go away...
Can someone help a little stupid enthusiast?
