I did a manual 5 minute record on my first try. I tried to play it using vlc. The screen flashed but then I got errors. I did have trouble installing vlc. Perhaps I could send the mpeg2 file to someone to test it out for me. Anyway, take a look at the ExtractStream dump and tell me if there are any problems.

The output looks fine. Vlc won't play an elemental stream, either mux the streams together and use vlc, or play the audio thru mpg123, and the video thru mpeg2dec.
