Ahh! In that case, it looks like it is having trouble reading the video stream. Make sure you haven't deleted the program you are attempting to extract would be my first guess. :) Secondly, make sure that program plays correctly and fully from the TiVo native interface.

I too have a single disk system -- it doesn't cause errors trying to open a non-existant hdb.

I like your tivomadd theory. I don't have that, and it seems likely that with tivomad, chunks ExtractStream is looking for on the second disk actually exist on the first.

That code that figures out which disk to look at hasn't changed a bit from PlayStream to ExtractStream. Alex (d18c7db) at the old AVS disney TiVo underground forum wrote that code, and might have some insight as to how it would be effected by tivomadd. As the only person running tivomadd using ExtractStream, you might be the one to figure out how to make it work. Do you have a cross-compiler setup?

Is it a Single drive upgrade or just a single drive? If it's a single drive upgrade that has gone from 1.3 to 2.0 then all you need to do is go back to the upgrade instructions and recopy then /dev/hda11 to /dev/hdb2 and /dev/hda12 /dev/hdb3 and it'll all be happy (this is what i had to do to get it working)

It's working ok for me...
(slow downloads 1.5 hrs for 30min basic)
(some shows won't download or bad stream)

going to install new extractstream and hope for better results...

This problem has been fixed for a long time, as you can see in other posts. You're using the wrong version of ExtractStream.

What was the solution to this? I have a TiVoMad'd single drive system (60gb) and it is giving me the can't open /dev/hdb2 error. How do I get past this?
