GPL v3 is Anti-DRM
Friday marked the release of GPL v3, the first update in nearly 16 years. Barring hardware manufacturers from using DRM, and from locking people out for using GPL-licensed software, has ruffled a few feathers. Even Torvalds is expressing concern over some of the licensing, while others worry that the anti-Tivoization of GPL v3 will cause serious repercussions as commercial users are cut out.
