Nina Dobrev hasn’t forgotten her roots Unlike some other DEGRASSI grads who shall remain nameless, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES star Nina Dobrev has not forgotten her former classmates. As evidence by her tweet over the weekend that had her spending Saturday night with Paula Brancati (Jane), Charlotte Arnold (Holly J) and Landon Liboiron (Declan) in the Big Apple. Where Dobrev was shooting the upcoming cover of Seventeen magazine and the DNG crew were busy with the season finale that we really hope will titled DEGRASSI TAKES MANHATTAN. Shonda Rhimes hearts Callie/Arizona Shonda Rhimes may be a spoiler-phobe offline, but on twitter it seems she is a never-ending wealth of information. First Look: Reverend Camden Drops By PRIVATE PRACTICE
Not to be outdone by his fictional small screen son David Gallagher, who will be swooping into Metropolis this Friday as one half of “The Wonder Twins” comes Stephen Collins. Yes, the artist formerly known as Reverend Camden will be descending upon Santa Monica for an unwelcome face-to-face with daughter Addison on the November 19 episode of PRIVATE PRACTICE entitled “Sins of the Father.” More first look photos of the man Addison lovingly refers to as “The Captain” can be seen after the jump. SETH AND ALEX's ALMOST LIVE COMEDY SHOW Was *Almost* Funny
If last November’s ROSIE LIVE! was the final nail in the Primetime Variety Show’s coffin, last night’s FAMILY GUY PRESENTS: SETH AND ALEX’s ALMOST LIVE COMEDY SHOW was the funeral. Starring Seth MacFarlane (FAMILY GUY, AMERICAN DAD, CLEVELAND SHOW) and Alex Borstein (the voice of “Lois”) SETH AND ALEX’s ALMOST LIVE COMEDY featured a mix of musical numbers, sketches and animated interstitials. Almost none of which — with the notable exception of a far-too-brief appearance by Stewie to introduce the trailers for the upcoming Warner Bros. films Sherlock Holmes and Ninja Assasins ) was funny. Offensive for offensive sake, the dynamic duo’s jokes ridiculing the Holocaust (Borstein objected to MacFarlane performing “Edelweiss” from The Sound of Music on the grounds that she is Jewish), Marlee Matlin’s speaking voice (Complete with cameo that went on far too long) and failed screen tests (Bea Arthur auditions for Showgirls ), all fell terribly... Taylor Swift Hosts SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE for the Win!
Forget her multi-platinum selling albums and endless string of sold out tour dates. What separates last night’s SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE host (and musical guest!) Taylor Swift from the seemingly never ending string of “it” girls and overhyped “next big things” that for better or worse SNL loves to hitch its wagon to, is that the artist formerly known as Joe Jonas’ girlfriend did what so many others have tried and failed so-very-miserably to do: Keep this TV Addict awake until 1AM. No joke. From her adorable play-to-her-strengths opening musical monologue (see above video), her spot-on Kate Gosselin and Shakira impersonations or her multitude of characters in between (Our personal favorite, “Crazy Roommate” after the jump), Swift not only demonstrated genuine comic chops and like-ability off the charts — but more importantly — that rare ability (Cut to Neil Patrick Harris’ hosting gig waaaaay back in January) to raise the game... What type of show is in store for viewers who tune into THE WANDA SYKES SHOW this Saturday? Not the typical “Hey, tell us about your new movie” celebrity interview. We’re throwing them [Celebrities] on the panel where we’ll talk about current topics, pop culture or maybe something’s bugging somebody that night. I’m not going to have guests I’m trying to rush out the door. These are people that I enjoy and want to hang out with and have a drink and get to know a little better.
